The EPA recently revised the 1991 Lead and Copper Rule with the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (2021), Guidance on required inventory (2022), and the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (2023). This means Hodgenville Water Works is required to inventory the water pipe material on both sides of the meter for every metered customer (business, agricultural, and residential). And they need your help.
Below you will find the Hodgenville Water Works Service Line Survey Form. Hodgenville Water Works asks customers to perform a scratch test or strong magnet test to determine the material type of the water service line that enters the house. Customers do not need to test the rest of the plumbing on the premises.
A more detailed explanation of how to check your pipes can be found within the PDF below. You can also visit he Kentucky Division of Water’s “Check Your Pipes Kentucky” webpage at https://bit.ly/checkyourpipesky for videos and other resources.
