Chief Marcus Jackson is a life-long resident of LaRue County and a 1992 graduate of LaRue County High School. He then attended Eastern Kentucky University majoring in Police Administration.Chief Jackson began serving his community in 1990 with Magnolia Volunteer Fire Department. He worked part-time for LaRue County Emergency Medical Service as an Emergency Medical Technician from January of 1994 until December of 2000. He began his career in law enforcement in November of 1995 as a Patrolman with Hodgenville Police Department. He left Hodgenville Police Department to become the Chief Deputy of the LaRue County Sheriff’s Office in January of 2003. Jackson returned to the Hodgenville Police Department in January 2011 and was promoted to Sergeant in July of 2011. Then became Acting Chief of Police in January 2015 and was appointed as Chief of Police in July 2015.
SGT Richardson has been in law enforcement since 1996. He served as a Military Policeman in the US Army for eight years and has been in civilian law enforcement since 2005. SGT Richardson is a certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and enjoys teaching DRE school and at the Department of Criminal Justice Training Academy.
